LeAndre Barnett
LeAndre Barnett (B.1994) is a contemporary visual artist whose work exists at the intersection of fine art, animation, and cultural identity. Rooted in acrylic painting, his practice constructs imaginative universes that reflect ambition, transformation, and the power of self-defined narrative.
Drawing from early aspirations of becoming an animator, Barnett approaches the canvas as a storytelling space—where character, symbolism, and branding language converge. His work challenges traditional boundaries between commercial aesthetics and fine art, positioning creativity as both personal mythology and cultural architecture.
Based in South Florida, Barnett exhibits throughout the region while expanding his practice through live painting experiences and collaborative art activations.
Artist Statement
I create from a place of imagination without limits. As a child, I wanted to become an animator and build entire worlds from my mind. Today, I use acrylic on paper and canvas to do exactly that ,construct visual universes rooted in storytelling, ambition, and identity.
My work explores Black identity, ownership, and the power of self-authorship. I’m interested in how creativity can shape culture, how branding influences perception, and how characters can carry emotion, memory, and legacy. The figures and symbols in my paintings exist in spaces that feel both playful and intentional inviting viewers to reflect on who they are and who they are becoming.
I see my practice as more than image making. It’s world-building. Each piece is part of a larger narrative about limitless possibility, about reclaiming imagination as a serious force, and about designing a life and legacy on your own terms.
Through exhibitions and live art experiences, I aim to create moments where storytelling, community, and culture intersect—where art feels alive, expansive, and forward-moving.
